Macaroni Au Gratin

Ingredients

  • 1 (7 ounce) package macaroni
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 ounces shredded Velveeta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned dry bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.

  2. Place in a greased 2-quart baking dish; set aside.

  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

  4. Stir in flour until well blended.

  5. Gradually add milk; bring to a boil.

  6. Cook and stir for 2 minutes; reduce heat.

  7. Add cheese, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and mustard; stir until cheese melts.

  8. Pour over macaroni and mix well.

  9. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.

  10. Bake uncovered, at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
