Creamy Pesto Shrimp with Linguini and Asparagus

Ingredients

  • for white sauce:
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 box of pasta
  • 2/3 cup parmesan
  • 1/4 cup basil pesto
  • 1lb shrimp cooked
  • 20 asparagus spears

Directions

  1. fill a large pot of water and let boil

  2. heat butter and oil in a large frying pan at medium low; remove from heat and add flour, slowly add the milk; then return to medium low heat and season with pepper ; reduce heat and let simmer

  3. cook pasta

  4. whisk parmesan into white sauce then blend in pesto

  5. add shrimp and let it heat through

  6. steam or microwave asparagus
