Janeen’s Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 Tblsp Butter
  • 1 Med onion chopped
  • 1 clove of Garlic
  • 1-1 1/2 lb of hamburger or Beef roast ( If using hamburger brown as directed. If using Beef Roast, roast in oven until done)
  • 2 Tblsp Chili Powder
  • 8 oz can Tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 2 cups cooked pinto Beans ( beans of your choice)
  • 1 cup Water ( I use bean water and juice from roast)
  • 2 cups canned tomatoes
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Brown onion and garlic in butter. Add meat and brown. Reduce heat and add tomato sauce, tomatoes, beans, water and spices. Simmer for 6 hours. Thicken with flour and water mixture 30 minutes before serving if needed.
