Homemade Caramel Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.

  2. Add brown sugar, and whisk untill combined and thickened, about 2 to 5 minutes.

  3. Whisk in whipping cream and cook 2 to 3 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla

  5. Sauce will thicken when refrigerated.
