Texas Peach Pecan Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2/3 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 cup peeled mashed fresh peach
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Directions

  1. Grease a 9×5×3-inch loaf pan.

  2. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.

  4. Add eggs and sour cream, and beat 1-2 minutes or until light.

  5. Stir in flour mixture alternately with peaches.

  6. Stir in peaches.

  7. Stir in pecans.

  8. Pour into prepared pan, and bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes or until cake tester or knife inserted in center comes out clean.

  9. Cool 10 minutes in pan.

  10. Remove from pan to wire rack, and cool completely.
