Lasagne

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground turkey or hamburger
  • 3/4 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 1 lb. tomatoes, pureed
  • 15 oz. tomato sauce
  • 2 Tb. parsley flakes
  • 2 Tb. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. basil leaves
  • 24 oz. low-fat cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c. parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tb. parsley flakes
  • 1-1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. oregano leaves
  • 8 oz. lasagne noodles, cooked
  • 3/4 lb. mozzarella, grated
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan

Directions

  1. (Using ingredients 1-9) Cook and stir meat, onion, and garlic in large saucepan until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain all fat. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, parsley, sugar, salt, and basil. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered 1 hour or until mixture is the consistency of spaghetti sauce.

  2. (Using ingredients 11-14)

  3. at oven to 350. Mix cottage cheese, Parmesan, parsley, salt, and the oregano. Reserve 1/2 c. meat sauce for thin top layer.

  4. (Remaining ingredients) In ungreased 13 × 9, layer 1/4 each of the noodles, remaining meat sauce, mozzarella cheese, and cottage cheese mixture. Repeat 3 times. Spread reserved meat sauce over top; sprinkle with 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese.

  5. Bake uncovered 45 minutes. For easier cutting, let stand 15 minutes after removing from oven.
