Oatmeal Muffin Bread (Bread Machine)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound loaf
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup skim milk powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour or 1 3/4 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oat
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast or 1 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup pitted dates

Directions

  1. Measure all ingredients except dates into baking pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.

  2. Insert pan into the oven chamber.

  3. Select Sweet Cycle, Light Crust.

  4. Add dates at the “add ingredient” signal.

  5. When the baking cycle ends, immediately remove the bread from the pan and place it on a rack.

  6. Let cool to room temperature before slicing.
