Sourdough Bread Pudding with Honey

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 stick and 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cinnamon
  • 2 cups room temp milk
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups cubed sour dough bread
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

  2. Beat eggs, milk, 2 tablespoons of butter, and vanilla together.

  3. Gradually add sugar and mix until it is completely dissolved.

  4. Place cubes in a 9" round pie dish.

  5. Pour egg mixture over the bread.

  6. Sprinkle with pecans.

  7. Bake for 50 minutes.

  8. A few minutes before the pudding is done heat one stick of butter, honey, cinnamon, and salt over medium heat.

  9. Remove from heat.

  10. Add heavy cream.

  11. Drizzle over bread.
