Pepperoni Rolls

(from Mrs. Farmer Brown’s recipe box)

I also use this dough recipe to make bread, raisin bread and pizza crust.

Ingredients

  • 3 c. very warm water
  • 3 pkgs. quick rise yeast (or 1 lg. cake or 2T.)
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 2 t. salt
  • 1/2 c. veg. oil
  • about 8 c. flour
  • pizza sauce
  • desired toppings

Directions

  1. Put yeast, sugar, salt & ½ of the flour into lg. bowl. Mix. Add water and oil and stir until well mixed. Add more flour and continue to mix until you have a nice dough. At some point you will have to get rid of the wooden spoon and just use your hands. Knead until smooth and just slightly sticky. Cover bowl and let rest for 1 hr. Make 20 – 25 balls of dough. Roll each one out into an oval shape and top with a heaping tablespoon on pizza sauce. Spread sauce around in the center and put on your toppings. Fold in each narrow end about ½" and then fold each side over the opposite one. Bake at 350° for about 15 min. (I think! Ü) Some of the topping wil leak out. I haven’t found a way to prevent this.
