Russian Tea Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. eheat the oven to 325. Line sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla.

  3. Beat on medium speed until smooth, about 1 minute.

  4. Add the walnuts and beat on low speed until blended.

  5. Add the dry ingredients and beat until the soft comes together in large clumps.

  6. Roll a level teaspoon into a 1 inch ball, place the balls 1 inch apart on baking sheet.

  7. Bake cookies until the bottoms are light brown and the tops are lightly colored, about 20-25 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

  8. Roll cooled cookies in sifted confectioners’ sugar.
