Judy’s Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c light corn syrup
  • 2 c brown sugar
  • 2 sticks marg or butter
  • 1/2 tsp bak soda
  • pinch of cr of tarter
  • dash of salt
  • 8 qts of popped corn (32 c)
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. mix butter, corn syrup, and sugar in a heavy pan – bring to a boil.

  2. cook for 5 mins – remove from heat.

  3. stir in bak soda, cr of tarter, salt.

  4. then add vanilla.

  5. stir to blend in a lg roasting pan using 2 lg spoons.

  6. bake at 200F for 1 1/2 hr stirring several times (every 15 mins)
