Sauteed Apples

Serves 4 people

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 lbs firm crisp apples , peeled, cored, and cut into 8 pieces (Golden Delicious is recommended)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar or 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


  1. Add butter to a large, deep skillet; set heat at medium.

  2. When the butter melts, add in the apples; turn the heat to low, cover, and cook for 10 minutes.

  3. Add in the sugar and cinnamon; increase heat to medium; cook, stirring often, until the apples are tender and glazed, another 10 minutes or so.

  4. Serve hot or warm.
