Cinnamon Plantain Turnovers

Ingredients

  • 1 - 11oz box frozen maduros
  • 1 - 10.1oz can of large size crescent rolls
  • 1 egg or 1/4 cup egg substitute
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup white corn syrup (or honey)
  • Cinnamon-Sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cut maduros into bite size pieces.

  3. Beat egg and water until blended.

  4. Stir corn syrup and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon-sugar mixture on maduros.

  5. Open and lay flat half the crescent rolls. Place the maduros mixture on rolls. Do not over fill the rolls!

  6. Now open and place the other half of the crescent roll on top and crimp edges to seal.

  7. Brush with the egg/water mixture and spinkle additional cinnamon/sugar mixture on each roll.

  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until light golden brown.

  9. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping.
