Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter - room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespooon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon orange extract
  • 1 whole orange zest
  • 4 eggs - room temperature
  • 2 cups light sour cream
  • 3/4 cup poppy seeds

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, orange extract and sour cream until fluffy.

  3. Add orange zest and dry ingredients.

  4. Spray Pam on the two loaf pans.

  5. Bake for one hour.

  6. Cool and top with powdered sugar icing if desired.
