Hearty Cheese Potato Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup ham, diced
  • 2 cups potatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups milk

Directions

  1. Combine water, potatoes, onions, celery, carrots, salt and pepper. Simmer 10-12 min.

  2. In saucepan, melt butter until it begins to boil. Add flour and cook about 1 min. Slowly add milk until it thickens. Add cheese; heat till melted.

  3. Pour cheese sauce into soup mixture.

  4. Add ham.

  5. Do not boil
