Yum-Yum Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Icing:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 6 Tbsp milk
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1 box powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Mix together 2 cups flour and 2 cups sugar.

  2. In large saucepan, mix oil, water, butter and cocoa. Bring to a boil; beat into flour and sugar mixture.

  3. Mix together, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Add to chocolate mixture.

  4. Mix together cinnamon and salt; add to mixture.

  5. Add buttermilk.

  6. Bake at 400 for 25 min. in a 9 × 13 prepared pan.

  7. 5 min. before cake is done, make the icing.

  8. In a saucepan, bring butter, milk, and cocoa to a boil. Beat in powdered sugar. Spread warm icing over cake fresh out of the oven.
