Aunt Dorothy’s Hot Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup veg. oil
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup warm water to dissolve yeast
  • 3 Tbsp yeast
  • 9-10 cups flour

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water. (Add a handful of sugar to speed up the process)

  2. Mix together sugar, eggs, oil and 2 cups water. Add yeast mixture. Then start adding flour 1 cup at a time, till dough forms.

  3. Place in large bowl coated with oil, till rises.

  4. Punch down, form into balls, place on cookie sheet, let rise again.

  5. Bake at 400 for 10-12 min.

  6. Can make cinnamon rolls from this dough – roll out, pour melted butter over the dough, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, roll, then slice. Bake 20-25 min.
