ADAI (DOSA MADE WITH DHALS)

Ingredients

  • 1.Raw rice - 1/2 cup
  • 2. Boiled rice - 1/2 cup
  • 3. Toor dal - 1/2 cup
  • 4. Urad dal - 1/2 cup
  • 5. Channa dal - 1/2 cup
  • 6. Red chillies - 7
  • 7. Salt - to taste
  • 8. Oil - for sprinkle
  • 9. Asafoetida - a pinch
  • 10. Curry leaves - 10 chopped
  • 11. Coriander leaves - few chopped
  • 12. Onion - 1 finely chopped

Directions

  1. Soak rice and dals together for 2 hours.

  2. Then wash at least three times.

  3. Now grind it in a wet grinder or mixer grinder with little amount of water.

  4. While grinding add red chillies.

  5. Grind till the batter turns into coarse.

  6. Once the batter is ready tranfer to vessel.

  7. Now add chopped onions and curry leaves.

  8. Now the adai batter is ready.

  9. Heat the pan (tawa) for two minutes.

  10. Wipe the pan with few drops of cooking oil and spread a ladle full of batter into dosa.

  11. Cook till the adai turns into light brownish color eitherside.

  12. Serve hot with aviyal or coconut chutney.
