OVEN-COOKED STEAK

Ingredients

  • 1 RIB-EYE STEAK APPROX 1 PD 1 TO 11/2 THICK
  • CANOLA OR VEGETABLE OIL
  • KOSHER SALT
  • FRESH GROUND BLACK PEPPER

Directions

  1. BLOT STEAK WITH PAPER TOWEL

  2. LET COME TO ROOM TEMP

  3. TURN ON OVEN HEAT TO BROIL

  4. PUT IRON SKILLET IN OVEN TO WARM

  5. POUR OIL IN BOWL

  6. MIX 1 TBS OF KOSHER SALT WITH PEPPER

  7. COVER STEAK WITH OIL COVER WITH SALT/PEPPER

  8. REMOVE SKILLET FROM OVEN BUT ON TOP STOVE BURNER HIGH HEAT

  9. PUT IN STEAK COOK 30 SECONDS THEN FLIP

  10. COOK 30 SECONDS

  11. PUT SKILLET IN THE OVEN COOK UNDER BROILER FOR 2 MINS FLIP STEAK COOK ADDITIONAL 2 MINS IF YOU PREFER MED COOK ADDIT 2 MINS

  12. TAKE OUT OF OVEN OUT OF PAN AND LET REST FOR 5 MINS

  13. CUT AND ENJOY
