Italian Sausage Applesauce Appetizer

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Italian sausage
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup chunky applesauce (I think regular applesauce would do)
  • 1 onion, chopped (I used a Vidalia onion)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees

  2. In a large skillet, fry sausage until it is browned.

  3. Drain well. Cut the sausage into bite-size pieces.

  4. In a small casserole dish, combine sausage, brown sugar, applesauce, and onion.

  5. Bake at 325 degrees F for 45 minutes.

  6. Serve with toothpicks for easy nibbling.
