Wild Mushroom Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 T all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 t black pepper
  • 1 1/2 c beef broth
  • 1 glove garlic, minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 t paprika
  • 4 shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 medium carrots, sliced
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 stalk celery

Directions

  1. Place beef in crock pot. Mix together flour, salt and pepper, sprinkle over beef. Stir to coat each piece of beef with flour.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and stir to mix well. Cover, cook on low 10-12 hours or on high 4-6 hours. Stir stew before serving.

  3. Tip: For 5, 6, 7 slow cookers double the amount of meat, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, onion and celery
