Basale Soppu Saaru (Vaali curry)

Ingredients

  • Set 1
  • Toor dal – 1 cup
  • Tomato
  • Basale soppu – 300 – 500 gms
  • Turmeric
  • Onion sliced (1/2)
  • Salt to taste
  • Set 2 for Masala
  • Jeera – 1 teaspoon
  • Daniya – 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder
  • coconut – 2 tablespoon
  • Onion – 1/2
  • Garlic pods – 4
  • for tadka / Ogganane – Oil, Mustard seeds and curry leaves

Directions

  1. Pressure cook the “Set 1” ingredients. Grind the “Set 2” for masala and add the masala to the dal and soppu mixture. Mix well and bring to the boil. Add salt for taste. Season with giving tadka/oggarane. Eat with rice or Kadabu.
