Beefy Mac

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 tbsp minced onion
  • 1 small clove garlic, crushed
  • 4 oz unsalted tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella
  • 1 tbsp Parmesan
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • dash nutmeg
  • 2 cups cooked whole wheat elbow macaroni (1 cup uncooked)

Directions

  1. eheat oven to 350.

  2. Cook ground beef, onion and garlic in medium non-stick skillet until meat is browned. Drain.

  3. Stir in tomato sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan, oregano, cinnamon and nutmeg.

  4. Stir until cheese in melted.

  5. Add macaroni and toss gently until well combined.

  6. Pour mixture into ungreased 1 quart casserole dish.

  7. Cook, covered, for 30-35 minutes or until heated through.
