Orange Peel Gojju

Ingredients

  • Dried Orange Peel Powder: 1 and 1/2 tbsp
  • Powdered Jaggery : 2 tbsp
  • Tamarind juice : 1-1/4 tbsp
  • Gojju powder or rasam powder : 2 tbsp
  • Grated coconut : 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil: 1 tbsp
  • Asafoetida - Pinch
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric - 1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves - 1 strand
  • Methi Seeds - 1 tsp

Directions

  1. Grind grated coconut with Gojju powder or rasam powder to a fine paste.

  2. Heat the Oil in a pan, add Mustard seeds, once it splutters, add turmeric, asafoetida, Curry leaves,methi seeds, Masala paste (step 1), tamarind juice, Jaggery, orange peel powder and Salt to taste. Add little water and mix well. Let it boil for 5 mins.

  3. Orange Peel Gojju/Sauce is ready to serve with Rice, Dosa ,Chapathi or ragi balls.
