Green Peas Pulao-1

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice
  • 1 cup Green Peas
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 2-3 Cloves
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 1 Bay Leaf/Pulao Leaf
  • 1 large Onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Ginger Paste
  • 1/2 tbsp Pulao Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 tbsp Ghee +1/2 tbsp for frying Onion
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Soak rice in water for half an hour and drain excess water and keep aside.

  2. In a pressure cooker heat ghee and add cinnamon, cardamom, pulao leaf and cloves.

  3. To this add half of sliced onion, ginger and garlic paste and fry till onion turn transparent.

  4. Then add rice and fry for 2-3 minutes.

  5. To this add green peas peas, pulao masala, salt and pepper powder and mix well.

  6. Add milk and enough water and pressure cook the rice till its done.

  7. In a pan add about ½ tbsp of ghee and fry remaining onion till they turn brown and crisp.

  8. Garnish peas pulao with fried onion and serve hot with Raitas.
