Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 lb can tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cans (12 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1 Tsp. basil
  • 1 Tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tsp. salt
  • 1 TBSP oregano
  • lasagna noodles
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pkg cottage cheese
  • 1 pkg. mozarella cheese, shredded
  • Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

  1. Brown sausage and ground beef. Drain all fat. Add onion and garlic.

  2. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, pepper, salt and oregano. Add in 12 oz. water. Cook over low heat 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

  3. Cook lasagna in 2 TBSP salt until tender.

  4. In small bowl, beat 2 eggs. Mix in cottage cheese.

  5. Arrange layers of meat sauce, lasagna, cheese and mozarella. Cover with grated Parmesan cheese.

  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour in 9X13 pan.
