Turkey Devonshire Bake

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of toast, quartered
  • 1 lb bacon, fried crispy & brown
  • turkey breast, cooked & sliced
  • 2 tbsp margarine, melted
  • 1/3 c parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 6 tbsp margarine
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 c turkey/chicken broth
  • 2 c hot milk
  • 1 1/2 c cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

  1. For cheese sauce, melt 6 tbsp margarine in sauce pan. Blend in flour, add broth & hot milk, stirring constantly until thick. Add cheese & salt, still stirring. When cheese melts, set aside. Beat with whip until smooth before using.

  2. For cassarole, line bottom of buttered 9X13 pan with toast & top evenly with bacon. Cover with turkey slices.

  3. Pour cheese overall, covering completely.

  4. Bake at 375’ for 25 minutes, then sprinkle with parmesan & paprika (previously mixed together)

  5. Return to oven and bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown & bubbly
