Apple Strudel

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 c brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 6 med granny smith apples peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry dough thawed
  • 1/4 c chopped walnuts
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Directions

  1. eheat oven 400. Melt butter in large skillet over med high.

  2. Stir in brown sugar, juice, cinnamon and apples. Cover reduce heat cook 10 min or until tender. Remove apples, cool.

  3. Roll pastry to a 15×12 rectangle. Spoon apple mix along the long edge of pastry roll up jelly roll fashion. Gently press seam to seal.

  4. Place nuts and sugar in food processor pulse until finely ground. Sprinkle strudel with nut mixture press gently. Place on parchment paper on baking sheet. Bake 400 for 25 min or until golden. Let stand 5 min then slice.
