Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cooked cooled rice
  • 2 tbsp chana dal
  • 3 tbsp urad dal
  • 8 whole red chillies
  • 2 inches of cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp dhania
  • pinch of hing
  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 5 curry leaves
  • 3 cups of washed chopped cluster beans (microwave this for 4+4 minutes with 1/4 tsp salt)
  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. In a pan dry fry the chana dal,urad dal,whole red chillies, cinnamon and dhania. Do this on a low flame and keep mixing. Once you get a nice fragrance and the urad dal turns lightly brown take it off. Make sure you do not burn anything. Grind this to a fine powder and keep aside.

  2. In a deep pot add the oil and once its hot add the hing.Mix well and then add the veggies and stir fry for 2-3 minutes. Then add the above spice powder and give all a good mix. Cook again for another 2-3 mins. To then add the cooled cooked rice and turn off the stove. Mix well so that each grain is well coated. Adjust the salt and serve hot.
