Amrood Curry (guava curry)

Ingredients

  • 1 big or 2 small semi ripe guavas
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • ping of hing
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 3/4 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1 cup yogurt,
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp amchoor powder
  • 1/4 tsp fennel powder
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. Wash and cut the guavas to bite size pieces and microwave it for 3+ 2 minutes and keep aside.

  2. In a pan add oil and once its hot add the jeera and let it sizzle.Then add the hing and mix. Then add 1/4 cup of water followed by coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric and stir.

  3. Then add the chopped tomatoes and yogurt and cook till the oil separates.Make sure you stir all the while else the yogurt will curdle.

  4. Add the guavas,water and cook for about 5 minutes. Then sprinkle the garam masala, amchoor powder,fennel powder and sugar. Adjust the salt and serve hot
