Doodhwaala daal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup tuvar dal
  • 1 cup milk ( I used 2% milk)
  • 1 cup water + 1 cup more to thin the daal
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1/4 cup tamrind juice
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • cilantro to garnish

Directions

  1. Pressure cook the dal with milk ,water and green chillies for 3 whistles.Once the pressure releases, add tamrind juice,turmeric and salt.Bring this to a boil. Add water as deisred to thin it

  2. In a small pan add oil.Once hot add hing and jeera. Pour this over the dal. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot
