Categories: Cabbage, sidedish

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage finely chopped
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp urad daal
  • 3 bsp grated coconut
  • 2 chopped chillies
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • pinch of hing
  • coriander to garnish
  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. To the hot pot add oil, mustard and let it splutter. Then add the jeera, urad daal and hing. Then add in the chillies, cabbage and salt while giving it a good mix. Close the lid and let this cook for about 10 mins. Then add in the peas and cook it with the lid closed for another 5 minutes. If you want it crunchy I would prefer not cooking it as much but if you want it flat then go ahead till you are happy with how much its cooked. Then sprinkle the coconut and mix well. Garnish with coriander and serve hot. Goes well with rotis or as a accompaniment to rice.
