Peanut Brittle

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 C white Karo syrup
  • 1/4 C water
  • 2 C raw penauts
  • 1 tsp soda

Directions

  1. Mix together sugar, Karo, water and peanuts. Cook on medium heat stirring often until mixture reaches 300 or (hard crack) on a candy thermometer. This usually takes about 20-30 minutes and peanuts will pop open and mixture turns brown. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp soda. Mix well and quickly pour on a buttered cookie sheet. Spread thin. When it cools you can break into pieces.
