Favorite guacamole

Serves 6 people


  • 2-3 ripe avocados, sliced in half, pits removed
  • 3-6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2-3/4 cup picante sauce
  • Juice of 1/2-1 lime or lemon
  • Kosher salt to taste


  1. Scoop flesh of avocado into a medium bowl. With a potato masher or fork, mash until there is a thick paste, with some remaining small chunks of avocado.

  2. Add minced garlic, roughly 2 cloves per avocado, to taste

  3. Stir in 1/2 cup picante sauce, add more to taste.

  4. Squeeze citrus over and combine.

  5. Season with salt to taste and serve immediately with chips, salsa, or your favorite South of the Border dish.
