Classic Mashed Potatoes with Green Onion and Chives

Ingredients

  • 4lbs potatoes peeled and cut into 2" chunks
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 c 2% milk
  • 1/4 c (1/2 stick) unsalted cut up
  • 3 green onions trimmed and sliced
  • 1 tbsp snipped fresh chives

Directions

  1. Place potatoes into large pot. Add enough water to cover by an inch. Bring to a boil over high heat. Add a little salt to the water. Cook 12 min, until potatoes are tender and drain.

  2. Transfer potatoes to a serving dish and mash with a potatoes masher. Add milk butter and salt mash until smooth. Stir in green onions and chives.
