Oriental Salad

Ingredients

  • Salad:
  • 1 head Napa cabbage
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 2 pkgs. Ramen noodles
  • 1/2 C. slivered almonds
  • 1/4 C. sesame seeds
  • 1/3 C. butter
  • Dressing:
  • 3/4 C. sugar
  • 1/4 C. cider vinegar
  • 2 T. soy sauce
  • 1 C. oil

Directions

  1. Shred cabbage. Slice green onions, including green part of onion. Combine with cabbage and refrigerate in separate container. Break noodles into very small pieces (throw away seasoning packets). Saute noodles, sesame seeds, and almonds in butter until lightly browned. Put in separate container. For dressing, heat sugar and vinegar together until sugar dissolves. Cool. Add soy sauce and oil. Put dressing in glass jar; refrigerate. Before serving, combine cabbage mixture with noodle mixture and dressing; toss gently.
