Crispy chicken strips

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp potassium
  • 2 tbsp salt (for marinade)
  • 4 tbsp MSG (for marinade)
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder (for marinade)
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • 5 cups water
  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp salt (for coating)
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp MSG (for coating)
  • 1/8 tsp paprika
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder (for coating)
  • 1/8 tsp baking powder

Directions

  1. Mix the first six ingredients above.

  2. Cut chicken breasts into strips. Marinate in the above mixture for 24 hours under refrigeration.

  3. Preheat shortening in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees.

  4. Beat 1 egg in 1 cup of milk.

  5. Dip the chicken into the egg mixture.

  6. Dip the the chicken into the coating. Double-dip.

  7. Fry in fryer a few at a time till they are golden brown — about 5 minutes, or until they float.

  8. Remove the chicken to a rack and allow to drain for 5 minutes.
