Cheese straw twists

  • 1 pkg (17 1/4 oz) frozen puff pastry
  • 2/3 c grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 T paprika
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten.


  1. aw pastry as directed. Heat oven to 425. Cover 2 cookie shets with parchment or heavy brown paper. Mix parmesan cheese and paprika. Roll 1 sheet of pastry into rectangle 10X12 inches on lightly floured surface. Using flour coth covered rolling pin.

  2. Brush pastry with egg, sprinkle with 3 T of the cheese mixture. Gently press cheese mixture into pastry. Turn pastry over, repeat with egg and cheese mixture. Fold pastry in half lengthwise.

  3. Cut pastry crosswise into 1/2 inch strips. Unfold strips, roll each end in opposite directions to twist. Place twists on cookie sheet. Bake 7-8 min or until twists are puffed and golden brown. Repeat with remaining sheet of pastry, egg, and cheese mixture.
