Coffee Granita

Serves 10 people

  • 2/3 c hazelnut or other flavored instant coffee beverage (from 9.9 oz container)
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 1/2 c boiling water
  • 3 c cold water


  1. In med bowl, combine coffee beverage, sugar, and boiling water, using wire whisk stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in cold water. Pour mixture into 13X9 inch baking dish. Freeze about 1 hour or until icy around edges.

  2. Stir and mash mixture with fork to break up ice crystals. Freeze and additional 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours, braking up mixture with fork every 30 minutes. Serve immedately or let stand at room temp 5-15 minutes before serving. To serve, stir with fork, spoon into dessert dishes.
