Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients

  • 8, 10, or 12 qt jars filled with peeled and sliced apples.
  • 4 1/2, 5 1/8, or 6 3/4 C Sugar
  • 1, 1 1/4, or 1 1/2 C cornstarch
  • 2, 2 1/2, or 3 tsp cinnamon/nutmeg or both
  • 1, 1 1/4, or 1 1/2tsp salt
  • 10, 12, or 15 cups water
  • 3, 3/34, or 4 1/2 TBS lemon juice

Directions

  1. In a large sauce pan mix sugar, corn starch, spices, and salt; add water. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Add lemon juice. pour syrup over apples in quart jars. Seal and place in waterbath canner for 20 minutes.
