Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stew meat, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon onion, minced
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2/3 cup sherry
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 cups noodles, cooked

Directions

  1. Brown beef in hot oil. Drain fat.
  2. Combine beef, mushrooms, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, thyme, beef broth, sherry and bay leaf in slow cooker. Cover; cook on High 4-5 hours.

  3. Discard bay leaf. Mix together sour cream, flour and water. Stir one cup of the hot liquid into sour cream mixture. Cover; cook on High for 30 mins. Serve over noodles.
