Peanut Blossoms

Ingredients

  • 48 Hershey's Kisses Milk Chocolate
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 3/4 c Reese's cream or crunch peanut butter
  • 1/3 c granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbls milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees

  2. Remove wrappers from Kisses

  3. In large bowl, beat shortening and peanut butter until well blended. Add 1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until light and fluffy.

  4. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.

  5. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add peanut butter mixture.

  6. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately place Kisses on top of each cookie, pressing down so cookie cracks around edges.

  8. Remove cookie sheet to wire rack and cool completely.
