Ingredients
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- daSH SALT
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 7 1/4 ounce dates
- 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup nuts

Cream margarine, add brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar,vanilla and egg.Beat untill light. Add dry ingredience. Chill until firm enough to roll. cut dates bring to boil with 1/4 cup sugar, salt, and 1/3 cup w. Wrap in pin flour onwaxpaper. Spread with filling. Roll up tightlyater. Simmer 5 minutes. Add nuts. Cool. Half dough. Roll each half in paper. chill overnight. Slice and bake at 375 for 10 minutes.
