Santa’s M&M Cookie Mix

If in jar, mix the flour with the baking soda, baking powder and salt. Layer the ingredients in the jar in this order: flour mixture, brown sugar, sugar, M&M’s. Pack each layer firmly in jar so all the ingredients will fit. Be sure to put the M&M’s on top so they can be separated for the recipe below.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar (not packed)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups M&M's candies
  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the vanilla, margarine and eggs in a large bowl. Set aside half of the M&M’s in the cookie mix jar. Pour the rest of the jar mixture into a large bowl and stir until mixed. Add the margarine mixture to cookie mix and stir until completely blended. (Be sure the margarine is cooled before adding the M&Ms).

  2. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Drop dough by the spoonfuls on the cookie sheet and push a few M&M’s on top of each cookie. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes until cookies are just golden brown on the edges.
