Garlic-cheese mashed potatoes

Ingredients

  • 3-4 potatoes, medium, peeled and quartered
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp butter (or margarine)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions

  1. Place potatoes in 4-quart saucepan. Cover with water. Bring to boil.

  2. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until potatoes are fork tender.

  3. Drain and return potatoes to pan on low heat. Add salt and pepper. Mash with potato masher, gradually adding milk, then butter.

  4. Mix in garlic powder, parsley flakes, onion powder, and sour cream. Spoon into baking dish.

  5. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.

  6. Top with cheddar cheese. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes.
