Microwave Crawfish Etouffee

Just as good as stove-cooked etouffee…and FAST!

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Serves 3 people

Ingredients

  • 1 pound crawfish tails
  • 1 tsp crab boil
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup water
  • Flour, to thicken

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a microwave safe bowl.

  2. Stir in the seasonings.

  3. Add crawfish.

  4. Add water.

  5. Stir thoroughly.

  6. Microwave for 4 minutes.

  7. Remove from microwave.

  8. Sprinkle a little flour over the mix until gravy

  9. starts to form.
  10. Microwave for 3 minutes.

  11. Stir to see if gravy is thick enough.

  12. If it is, microwave for 4 minutes at a time,

  13. until hot.
  14. Serve over rice.

  15. If it is not thick enough, add a little more flour

  16. Stir until dissolved.

  17. Microwave for 3 minutes.

  18. Remove and stir.

  19. Repeat until gravy is thick enough for your

  20. taste.
  21. Serve over rice.
