Whole Spelt Bread

Ingredients

  • 8 cups spelt flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or brown sugar)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 4 1/4 cups milk

Directions

  1. Grease two 9×5 inch loaf pans.

  2. In a large bowl, mix the spelt flour, salt, honey, baking soda and milk until well blended. Divide the batter evenly between each 9 × 5 inch loaf pan.

  3. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) or until golden brown.

  4. TIP: Place a loaf pan of the same size over the top of the loaf while baking to create a better crust.
