Buttercream Icing

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. clear vanilla
  • 4 c. powdered sugar (approx. 1 lb)
  • 2 Tbsp. milk

Directions

  1. Cream butter and shortening together with a mixer. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well on medium speed.

  2. Add milk and beat until light and fluffy.

  3. Keep covered until ready to use.

  4. Makes 3 cups
