Angel Food Cake

  • 1 cup CAKE Flour
  • 12 egg whites
  • 3/4 cup, plus 2 TBSP Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract


  1. Set oven to 375

  2. Combine flour and sugar (3/4 cup only)

  3. In another large bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar, and salt until foamy. Add 2 TBSP Sugar. Beat on high until meringue olds stiff peaks. Remove mixer bowl.

  4. Gently fold in flavorings. Sprinkle flour/sugar mixture, 1/4 cup at a time over meringue, folding gently until flour mixture disappears. Put into bundt pan, cut with spatula to remove air pockets.

  5. Bake 30-35 min until browned and springs back. Invert over a bottle until cooled.
