Quick Chili Con Carne

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 bottle beer
  • 1/2 cup canned low sodium beef broth
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2-3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1.5 tbsp ground cumin
  • 4 good shakes Tabasco sauce
  • Kosher salt, to taste

Directions

  1. In a deep frying pan or saucepan, brown ground beef in olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. Add beer, broth, tomatoes, seasonings and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer until ready to serve.
